Little Macie has arrived and we couldn't be happier. She is a beautiful, happy little girl who already has so much personality. Delivery went pretty well...here's a brief summary...
- Arrived at hospital to get induced April 16th at 5:00 a.m.
- Had 3 different nurses attempt to get the I.V. in....SO painful....3rd time was a success
- Started on pitocin
- My Dr. came, checked me...i was at a four, so he broke my water
- Immediately after I had these intense contractions one on top of the other
- After about 20 min. of this I asked for an epidural...anesthesiologist arrived and gave me one 20 LONG miserable minutes later.
- My nurse checked me immediately after epidural...i was at a 10
- So basically I went without drugs through the worst part, but it was still nice being numb for the pushing and getting stitched up. :)
- Pushed for about 30 minutes and little Macie was here.....I bawled for about 20 minutes
So that's it...we spent 3 days in the hospital and came home. It's so nice being home. she's much more calm and it's nice getting in a routine. She's a night girl. She's up all night it seems and sleeps most of the day. She smiles all the time and today she laughed....I couldn't believe it. She has a really tight grip and loves to dirty herself as soon as we changer her diaper. This is quite the adjustment, but we are so in love with this little girl!
